A Mercy at Midnight Castle was a winner of the 49th Annual Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival in 2024.

MINERVA – Black woman. Late twenties.
ARAMINTA – Black woman. Forties to fifties.
CYRUS GAUTHIER – (Pronounced Go-Tee-A) Black man. Son of a Cajun/Gullah-Geechee Mother and Creole Father from Haiti. Twenties to thirties.
THE HOLY SHE – Black woman. A goddess. Ageless. Immaculate. Divine. The deity of the Sahelian Diaspora. Also referred to as SHE and MOTHER. While SHE only physically appears singing “Good Ole Gospel Ship,” HER omnipotence is felt, acknowledged and summoned throughout.
